Storage Devices in Computer System are used to store data, output or results such as images documents, videos and games. You can also transfer data from one computer to another using some storage devices. There are two types of storage devices – internal and external storage devices. Internal storage devices are inside the computer whereas external storage devices are connected to the computer externally at different ports.
Some commonly used storage devices are:
Hard disk:
A hard disk is already placed inside a computer. You can store large amount of data on a hard disk.
CD:
A CD is flat and round the shape. The full form of CD is Compact Disk. Data is stored on the shiny part of the disk.
DVD:
A DVD looks like a CD. The full form of DVD is Digital Versatile Disk. It can store more information than a CD.
Pen Drive:
A pen drive is a small devices used to store data. It is easy to use and can be carried easily anywhere.
